CMON Expo 2019: A Celebration of Gaming from CMON

One of the giants in the board gaming community is CMON, also known as Cool Minis or Not!. Based out of Atlanta, GA, the company host their own gaming expo every year in Georgia. This year, they are having it from May 31st to June 2nd and will be held in at the Hyatt Recency Atlanta.

Outside of the gaming tables, sales booths, and other activities, CMON also provides another special something that makes people long to attend the event… their SWAG bag. In years past, many YouTubers posted their impressions of the goodies presented to those who attended the event and has received consistently positive reviews. This year’s swag bags may be their best bag yet.

This year’s Swag Bag includes:

  • A copy of Potion Explosion

  • A copy of 13 Clues

  • A copy of A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game Stark vs. Lannister 2-player Starter Set

  • A series of promo minis, cards, and other items from Rising Sun, Zomicide, Gizmos, and a few other titles

A Song of Ice and Fire by itself retails for $150 and it an awesome way to inspire members of the gaming crowd to purchase one or more of the game’s expansion. In order to qualify for the Swag Bag, you have to buy either the three day single pass ($40) or the family pass ($60) by May 7th. If you are in the Atlanta area or nearby, the cost for admission is more than worth it. Even if you and a friend or family member want to just spend a few days in Atlanta, this event would be a great reason to get tickets to CMON Expo.

On behalf of Steam for Dreams, I will be attending the event this year. One of the main interest is the painting sessions. One of the main reasons why I started to buy tabletop games is because of the miniatures and the beautiful way they can be painted. Along the way, I also grew to appreciate the actual gaming aspect of the medium. From your 90 minute narrative based RPGs to your smaller, quick round games that are one and done, I have started to fully appreciate the wide array of tabletop gaming and the elements that help bring the worlds they create to life. Stay tune to our site for more information about CMON Expo and other board gaming goodness, including our thoughts on Monolith Games’ Claustrophobia 1643 (which should arrive at our studio around the end of the month) and other titles.
