Worth the Look: Humble Heroines bundle from Humble Bundle

One of the great things about PC gaming is the plethora of gaming deals that you can find. Some sites like Humble Bundle and Fanatical post deals and gaming bundles that include well-known titles and indie games that may interest you. The bundles usually provide you with brief rundowns on each title that is included and how the games are rated on Steam. Another awesome thing about gaming bundles that are presented, especially on Humble Bundle, is that some of the funds are given to a charity that works towards a great cause. The following bundle is no exception.

The Humble Heroines: Warriors, Dreamers, and God Slayers bundle is themed on female led titles. Some of the marquee titles are games that many should have in their Steam library. Here’s a brief look at a few of the eight games that are included in the collection.

Control (Remedy/ 505 Games)

Control is an action game that follows Jesse Faden, who was called to a mysterious governmental facility called the FBC, the Federal Bureau of Control. While being vetted for a new Director position you were chosen to take, you start to experience elements of the paranormal around you. As Faden, you are charged with finding what’s going on in the FBC and to get to the bottom of the happenings. The otherworldly atmosphere delivers an intriguing uncertainty of what may lurk around the bend or why the FBC is a hotbed for so much paranormal activity. The version of Control included in the bundle is the Ultimate Edition, which includes all of the DLC.

Sable (SHEDWORKS / Raw Fury)

Sable, is a title that dawn an Moebius-inspired art style. Accompanied with music from Japanese Breakfast, you cruise around the world in your hoverbike, exploring ruin temples and find answers to the mysterious world around you. While the game is normally $24.99, it is currently on sale on Steam for $11.24 (55% off). While this deal is great, this bundle is even a better deal as you are also provided with 7 more awesome games while supporting awesome causes.

These are two of the eight cool titles provided in this bundle. While it’s great to receive these awesome games as a great deal, a portion of the profits make this bundle even sweeter. As mentioned before, this bundle supports two charities: Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund and Girls Who Code. Below are the descriptions of the two charities as mentioned on the site:

Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund (https://www.gmgsf.org/ )

Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund is a newly formed 501c3 public charity that provides need-based financial scholarships as well as mentorship to girls and young women interested in pursuing video game development summer camps, workshops and undergraduate degree programs.

Girls Who Code (https://girlswhocode.com/)

Girls Who Code, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2012 to encourage more young women to complete a college-level computer science education and gain skills to further enhance their employability. Mobilizing leading executives, educators, and engineers, Girls Who Code has developed a new model of computer science education designed to inspire, educate, and equip girls of all experience levels and backgrounds with the skills to succeed in the field.

As of today, the bundle will be out available for ten more days. If this bundle sparks your interest, check out the link for the game bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/games/humble-heroines-warriors-dreamers-and-god-slayers While this is a single moment when you can donate to the two causes benefitted by this bundle, this isn’t the only time you can donate to them. I encourage everyone who find the causes interesting to visit their websites and learn more about how they are helping provide more opportunities for girls and young women in the gaming and technology space.
